We hope you will adopt a cat or kitten from the Feline Adoption & Rescue Society! FARS wants to find permanent loving homes for all of our cats. We invite you to visit our Adoption Centers and meet the cats. We ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Questionnaire and to meet with one of our Adoption Counselors. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure that the cat selected is one that will be a good match for the temperament of the cat and the lifestyle of the individual or family that wishes to adopt. Where Our Cats Come From The cats that Feline Adoption & Rescue Society admits into our care come from many different sources. We work with other shelters and often transfer in cats from them. We do this to assist “Open Admission” organizations (organizations whose mandate requires them to accept all cats that are presented to them, such as the MSPCA) when their resources are limited or simply to give cats that have been overlooked in a particular shelter a chance to find a home via a different venue. We work with local rescue organizations who take in stray cats and we take in kittens of feral cats and owner surrenders. |

FARS Adoption Service Fees The Feline Adoption & Rescue Society is non-profit animal welfare organization. We believe that it is not possible to place a value on the life of a cat. We charge an adoption service fee. This fee helps FARS to offset our veterinary and other cat care costs. Our adoption fees are as follows (effective March 1, 2010):
If 2 cats are adopted at together, there will be a $25 discount off the adoption fee of 1 of the cats. All cats in the care of FARS receive a minimum of the following services:
